This tour is the second stage of an international cooperation project to mark the bicentenary of Peru's independence, proposed by Ensemble 2e2m in partnership with Pôle Supérieur 93, Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne Billancourt and La Muse en Circuit, a national centre for musical creation. The starting point was a musical commission to Peruvian composer Juan Arroyo: Mater Natura, a grand orchestral fresco first performed in France, then revived as part of the Festival-Academia Experimenta in Lima, Peru.
The Festival-Academia Experimenta is a space whose mission is to promote the creation, transmission and dissemination of contemporary music.
Its 2024 edition is jointly organised by the Gran Teatro Nacional, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, the Peruvian National University of Music and the French Embassy in Peru. It will take place from 22 to 30 June 2024.
One of the highlights of the 2024 festival will be the appearance of Ensemble 2e2m and 5 students from the Pôle Supérieur de l'Enseignement Artistique de Seine- Saint Denis for masterclasses and several concerts.
The recent creation of the Experimenta festival in Lima not only provides a major opportunity for local cultural development, since it is the first time in Peru's history that a festival of contemporary creation has been created, but also enables Ensemble 2e2m to perform once again on the Latin American continent.
