Geek Bagatelles presents a number of fragments of the Beethoven’s IX symphony and imagines them as the “remnants”, the vestiges or ruins of a lost masterpiece. Therefore, the fragments undergo the same “ravages” that time, natural disasters or man’s destructive bias inflict on the monuments of the great civilisations of the past: crumbling, erosion, collapse, ruin, dispersal, displacement, sand, stone, superimposition, disappearance, transformation, burial, interment. The fact remains that these remnants defy their fate and stir powerful, living emotions within us, those of nostalgia, persistence, endurance and poetry.
